- Always carry a small scratch pad with you for note-taking.
- Review "junk mail" during low energy time (the last 15-20 minutes of the day).
- Take only carry on bags as allowed while traveling in airports. Delays occur when waiting for checked bags.
- When leaving a message to call you back, indicate the best time to call you back.
- If the person you call is not available, try to get information you need from someone else rather than leaving a call back message.
- Keep paper and pen and other needed business supplies handy in every room as well as every vehicle.
- Always include the time you must leave from a specific location on your calendar when scheduling meetings away.
- Don't be a slave to your phone. Let it go to voice mail during meetings, lunch, etc.
- Make doctor and dental appointments first thing in the morning so that you are first ahead of the crowd.
- Keep a supply of greeting cards, gifts and stamps on hand.
- Use a highlight when reading reports, letters, etc so you can mark points requiring action.
- Photocopy both sides of your credit cards and leave a copy at your home, office and carry one set on you.
- Use driving time to listen to motivational, instructional, and leisure tapes/CDs.
- Keep a pocket recorder with you for recording ideas, information, things to do, etc . . . as they occur to you.
- Be connected to your planning calendar wherever you are -- even on vacation.
- Write or e-mail instead of phoning.
- Use as many time saving technology devices as possible -- PDA, etc. . .
